Tom Selleck

Tom SelleckThomas William Selleck is an American actor. His most well-known role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time the actor received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series, winning in 1985. Since 2010 Selleck has appeared in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television movies that are based on the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chiefwho began his career in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his roles in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 films and TV shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. He was a regular TV actor in the roles of Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming, ignorant friend, in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner. He also had a lead part in the TV western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA) and endorser of advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
